The nearby Chateau de Favas (through the woods, 900 m to the west) belonged to the Knights Hospitalers. There was a hamlet of Favas, but that disappeared during the Wars of Religion.
The Favas Chapel sits beside the road on an open field, with low hills just behind to the north. We photographed the chapel 12 years ago, and as you can see between Photo 1 and Photo 2, not much has changed over the years. The window frames have been replaced in the upper windows, and the tree has grown taller.
There's a convient parking area across the road facing the chapel, at the edge of the Bois de Favas. There's a very nice playground in the trees [photo-5], and good walking/hiking trails into the woods.
